Florencia Machado


Ms. Machado graduated from the Superior Institute of Arts of Colón Theatre as “Professional Opera Singer” in Buenos Aires, Argentina. In 2007 she graduated with honors from the School of Music of the National University of Rosario as a Bachelor and Professor in Lyric Singing. There, she also studied piano and pipe organ, with her father, Luis Ángel Machado. She granted a scholarship to study chamber repertoire in the Chamber Foundation in Buenos Aires. She also took lessons with Teresa Berganza, Isabel Penagos, Claudia Pinza, Enza Ferrari and Diana Soviero. She also took parto f the “ACCADEMIA ROSSINIANA 2011” directed by Mtro. Zedda in Pesao, Italy.

Ms Machado won the 1st prize at the “Teatro Colón International Singing Contest” whose jurors were Kiri Te Kanawa, Sumi Jo, Sherrill Milnes, Lenore Rosenberg, Nicholas Sears and Renaud Lorange. She has also received the special prize for “The New Generation” in the OSCAR DELLA LIRICA OPERA AWARDS 2012 in Torre del Lago, Italy. This award was organized by “Fondazione Verona per l’Arena” and “Fondazione Puccini”. The Honorable Senate of the Argentinian Nation has declared their consent and recognition for her trajectory and the Music Critics Association of Argentina has given her the Encouragement award 2012. In 2014 Ms Machado was distinguished by the Goverment of the Autonomous City of Buenos Aires.

In 2015 Ms. Machado sang Siebel (Faust) in Teatro El Circulo in Rosario, Charlotte (Werther) for Buenos Aires Lirica in Teatro Avenida in Buenos Aires, Cherubino (Nozze di Figaro) in Teatro Solís in Montevideo, Uruguay and Carmen for Juventus Lyrica in Teatro Avenida. Among other performances stand out: Giovanna Seymour (Anna Bolena) in Teatro Avenida, Isabela (L’italiana in Algeri), Maddalena (Rigoletto), Flosshilde ( Reingold) in Teatro Argentino in La Plata. Idamante (Idomeneo), Meg (Fatlstaff), Cherubino (Nozze di Figaro) , Gea (Bebe Dom by M. Perusso) in its international premiere, 2nd Lady ( Magic Flute), Tisbe (Cenerentola) and Mercedes (Carmen) in Teatro Colón in Buenos Aires. She sang “Adalgisa” (Norma, 2012) in Teatro Coliseo and "Frasquita" in Carmen at Opernfestspiele St. Margarethen, Austria, she was “Carmen” (Carmen) San Juan Opera, Argentina, Hänsel (Hänsel und Gretel), SODRE Auditorium, Montevideo, Uruguay, She participated as a soloist in various Symphonic Choir concets which incluye: Beethoven Ninth Symphony in Teatro SODRE, Montevide, Uruguay, the Mass in C by Mozart in the Usina del Arte in Buenos Aires and in the Teatro del Libertador San Martín in Córdoba and Mahler’s Resurrectionin the Ballena Azul in Buenos Aires.

In 2016 she will sing Bernardo (Batrix Cenci by Ginastera) in Teatro Colon, Zerlina (Don Giovanni) in Teatro El Círculo de Rosario and Isaura (tancredi by Rossini) in Teatro Municipal in Santiago, Chile.
